Community Services
From work to play, a variety of exciting service options help participants learn new skills, develop new relationships, become more independent, and get involved in the community. Individuals who want to work can participate in subcontract jobs at the agency's work center. They can gain skills to enhance their marketability for future community employment and earn a paycheck at the same time. Cornerstone Services also offers developmental training services. The training includes daily living skills, motor skill development, behavior management, and special needs programming. Individuals who receive these services often have the opportunity to practice their skills in community settings. In addition, Cornerstone has had a longstanding partnership with Joliet Junior College to provide on-site classes for program participants to increase their general academic skills or prepare for the GED. The number of classes offered has increased in the past year and has proven to be a valuable component of the services available.
