Residential Services

Individuals who receive residential services from Cornerstone possess support needs in order to live in the community.  Residential support services are offered to people over age 18 with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness(es).  Staff provide services to individuals who are living at home with family or guardians and to those who are on their own in the community.

The agency maintains a number of small, community-based, scattered-site residences, though well over half of all participants rent from local landlords.  Every effort is made to accommodate the individual housing preferences of those who receive residential services.

Supervision depends on the needs of the individual.   Residents who require 24-hour, on-site supervision receive it; others simply receive intermittent support services as needed.

Independent living experiences are enhanced as staff guide residents in developing personal and household budgets, meal plans, shopping and cooking skills, and housekeeping techniques.

Professional, psychological, nursing, and dietary services as well as recreational and travel opportunities are just a few of the many options available to those who receive residential services.

Residents are approved for funding and referred to Cornerstone by a pre-admission screening agent or case coordination agency.
