Cornerstone Services Receives Donation from Midland States Bank Foundation

Kankakee, IL – Feb. 14, 2024 – Cornerstone Services is pleased to announce a $7,700 contribution by Midland States Bank. The grant, provided by the Midland States Bank Foundation, will support technology to help individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs secure employment in the community.

“Having a job is important not only for financial security, but it is also a source of pride for the people who turn to Cornerstone for support. Knowing how to utilize technology is crucial both for developing marketable skills as well as seeking employment in the 21st century,” said Cornerstone President/CEO Ben Stortz.      

Cornerstone Services operates an array of programs for over 1,300 individuals with disabilities every day in Will and Kankakee Counties. Each year, the agency helps over 100 people find and keep new jobs in the community. Funds from the Midland States Bank Foundation are being used to purchase six brand-new desktop computers and a laptop with large monitor for technology training at the agency’s location on Harvard Drive in Kankakee.

The Midland States Bank Foundation supports the general welfare, education and health of the communities where the Bank operates. Since its creation in 2011, the Foundation has contributed more than $1,900,000 to non-profit organizations throughout Midland’s footprint.
