News & Success Stories
Stories like these are happening every day at Cornerstone. We strive to provide hope and the tools the people we serve need for a better life and a better tomorrow.
Quran Soto is one of over two dozen individuals on a Cornerstone work crew at the Joliet IKEA fulfillment center. The agency transports and supervises the crew, which is responsible for collecting and sorting packaging material for recycling. Quran had spent many months trying to find a job, and with Cornerstone's support, he is now able to proudly earn a paycheck.

Having crisscrossed the country in search of a place he could call home, Nick Buttron returned to Illinois when he began to experience symptoms of mental illness. After spending time in a nursing home, Nick longed for his own home and a job in the community. With support from Cornerstone, Nick is now married and living in Kankakee, where he takes pride in his job and home.

Individuals who receive services at Cornerstone love to give back to the community that is so generous to them. In December Erik Dale donated 54 baby hats he made to the Silver Cross Hospital nursery. He also volunteers every month at MorningStar Mission, where he serves lunch.
